Product Description
The Honeywell NOTIFIER ISO-X Fault Isolator Module is designed to protect intelligent addressable fire alarm systems by automatically isolating short circuits on the Signaling Line Circuit (SLC). When a wire-to-wire short occurs, the module disconnects the affected section to help maintain communication with devices in the unaffected portions of the loop. Once the short circuit is cleared, the ISO-X automatically reconnects the isolated section. It supports compatible NOTIFIER fire alarm systems using Style 4, Style 6, and Style 7 SLC wiring configurations, subject to system design requirements.
Powered directly from the SLC loop, the ISO-X requires no separate power supply or individual device address. Its yellow LED flashes during normal operation and illuminates steadily when a short circuit is isolated. The module also provides resistance to electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference and uses clamping screw terminals for secure wiring. It can be installed in a standard 4-inch square electrical box or with an optional SMB500 surface-mount backbox. The ISO-X helps limit the impact of wiring faults and maintain communication across unaffected sections of fire alarm systems.
